How to Program a Ford Key Fob

You’ll find that Ford key fob programming is very straightforward and easy to do on your own. Follow these steps from MacPhee Ford, and you’ll have access to all of your key fob functions in no time at all!

Ford Key Fob Programming Instructions

The following Ford key fob programming instructions will help you to establish or regain remote control of your vehicle so you can get back on the Sackville roads:

1. Get inside your vehicle and make sure that all of the doors are closed. Then, open the driver-side door, and press the UNLOCK button.
2. Quickly turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times. Complete this within 10 seconds, with the 8th and final turn ending on RUN. At this point the door locks should cycle off and on. (Note: If the door locks do not cycle, try again, turning the key faster. If this doesn’t work, then it’s possible your car isn’t equipped with keyless entry. Connect with the MacPhee Ford service team for assistance.) 
3. As soon as the door locks begin cycling, press any button on the Ford key fob you wish to program. The door locks will cycle again to confirm your Ford key fob programming and that the remote is ready to use.
4. Repeat Step 3 for any additional key fobs you need to program.
5. When you are done, turn the ignition to OFF. The door locks will cycle once more to signal task completion.
