Canada EV Incentives

The Canada Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program applies only to vehicles with six seats or less and a starting price of less than $45,000. For vehicles with seven seats or more, the starting price must be less than $55,000. What are the Canada EV incentives? The Government of Canada offers point-of-sale incentives of $2,500 to $5,000 for consumers who buy or lease an EV.

The Ford Escape PHEV and the all-electric Mustang Mach-E are both eligible for a $5,000 incentive on a purchase or a 48-month lease. The Canada EV incentive for a 24-month lease is $2,500, while a 12-month lease is eligible for a $1,250 incentive.

Note that the iZEV Program is continuing until March 31, 2025 or until available funding is exhausted.

Nova Scotia EV Incentives

Nova Scotia EV incentives of up to $3,000 toward the purchase of a fully electric vehicle and up to $1,500 toward the purchase of a plug-in hybrid. The Electrify Nova Scotia Rebate Program pertains to the purchase or lease of qualifying BEV or PHEV vehicles and must be applied at the time of purchase from the dealership. If you choose to buy a used BEV or PHEV the rebate will be either $1,000 or $2,000, depending on the purchase price.
